The Immune System and your Personal Power
Feeling powerless about your health, right now?
Back in the early 80’s, my father (aka the plant scientist), researched the role of stress on the health of plants. The immune system of a plant is not as complex as that of a human, but the underlying wisdom is similar.
For years, he has touted the basic tenets of a healthy immune system:
1. Restful sleep
2. Movement
3. Nutrient rich foods
4. Calm mind
And, now, years later, I teach this stuff to humans. (Thanks dad! I didn’t see that coming.)
There have been plenty of posts dismissing immune “boosting” products as Covid health support. I’m not going to get into thoughts on that, right now.
These four tenets are unglamorous, concrete health strategies that SUPPORT a healthy immune system. Most of us need help with one or more of these categories. Start there. That is what we can do to empower our personal health—during this time and always.
AND, a healthy immune system can be relative. That means that EVEN if you are already immunocompromised, you can still aim for your healthiest relative state.
The bottom line is that the healthier our immune system, the more we are protected against disease. This is basic science. You have more personal power than you think. Remember that!
